Naples, and Home Again

So we never finished our story of Sorrento and the Amalfi coast.  Our last day in the area started like many of the others -- with a beautiful view out our hotel window, looking out over lemon trees with Vesuvius in the distance:

We then took the Circumvesuviana back to Naples, and had a little time to enjoy true Neopolitan pizza for lunch with buffalo mozzarella!

These statues reminded us of Jazzy!

A model of the excavations of Pompeii as of the 1880's;
it's much larger today as they've dug out more!
Naples is where the Archeological Museum, with many of the statues and frescoes from Pompeii and Herculaneum are collected and displayed.

The frescoes from Pompeii were absolutely amazing:

Cave canem (Attenti al cani!)

And then it was back to the train station, to wing our way back to Florence.  What a way to "fly" -- and it certainly felt like a full vacation.
